How to use

  1. 1Add the photo you want to shrink. JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC all work.
  2. 2Check that the target reads 50 KB. You can type a different size if the form asks for something else.
  3. 3Press “Compress to 50 KB”. The page tries different quality levels for you and keeps the best one that fits.
  4. 4Download the result and check the size shown in the list.

Tips and limits

  • Photograph a signature on plain white paper in good light, then crop tightly with the crop tool before compressing: less empty space means a smaller file.
  • If the result looks too soft, ask for 100 KB instead. Some portals accept it, and the picture will be clearly sharper.
  • The compressed copy is a new file. Your original photo is never changed.

Compress Image to 50KB

Fifty kilobytes is tiny, about the size of a short text file, and it is a common limit for signature boxes, small profile pictures and ID-card scans on application forms. This page opens the compressor with a 50 KB target already set. It lowers the JPG quality step by step and, only if that is not enough, trims the pixel dimensions a little, then stops at the best version that still fits.

A signature on plain white paper usually fits with room to spare. A detailed photo, such as a crowd or a patterned fabric, may need to lose some pixels as well as quality. If you want a larger allowance, try 100 KB or 200 KB.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce an image to 50 KB?

Add the image, leave the target at 50 KB and press the button. The tool lowers the quality, and the dimensions only if needed, until the file is 50 KB or smaller.

Will a 50 KB photo look bad?

A simple image such as a signature or a portrait on a plain background stays clear. A busy, high-resolution photo will look softer, because 50 KB leaves very little room.

How do I reduce the size of an image?

Add your image, lower the quality slider or type a target size, and press the button. A quality of 70–80% usually looks the same but is far smaller.

How do I compress an image to a specific size like 100 KB?

Switch to “To a target size”, type 100 and choose KB. The tool finds the best quality that keeps the file at or under that size.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Compression runs entirely in your browser, so your photos never leave your device.
