Free image tools

Photos rarely come in the exact size or format a form, a shop listing or a social post asks for. These tools fix that in a few taps: compress an image to fit an upload limit, resize it to exact pixels, crop it to a ratio, or convert it between JPG, PNG and WebP.

There are also tools for removing a background, adding text to a picture and turning iPhone HEIC photos into JPG. Not sure where to start? The guide on reducing an image to 100 KB covers the most common request.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a photo smaller without making it blurry?

Use Compress Image and lower the quality a little, or choose a target size such as 100 KB. Quality around 70–80% usually looks the same to the eye.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. The image tools run on your device in the browser, so your pictures are never sent anywhere.

What is the difference between JPG, PNG and WebP?

JPG is best for photos, PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency, and WebP is a newer format that is usually smaller than both. The Convert Image tool switches between them.

Can I process several images at once?

Yes. Compress, resize and convert accept a batch and give you the results in one ZIP file.
