Free device tools
Before a meeting, a lesson or a recording, it helps to know your gear works. The microphone test shows a live level meter and lets you play back what it hears, the webcam test previews your camera and its resolution, and the screen recorder captures your screen with or without sound.
Each tool asks for permission only when you start it, and you can stop at any time. For a full walkthrough of capturing your screen, read how to record a laptop screen without software.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the browser ask for permission?
Browsers require your approval before a page can use the camera, microphone or screen. You can refuse or revoke it in the site settings whenever you like.
Does the screen recorder save my video online?
No. The recording is created in your browser and you download it as a file. Nothing is uploaded.
My microphone or camera is not detected. What should I do?
Check that no other app is using it, allow access in the address bar, and make sure the right device is selected in the tool.
