Frequently asked questions

How do I crop a photo online?

Add your photo, drag the crop box over the part you want to keep, and press “Crop image”. You can resize the box by dragging its handles.

Can I crop to a passport or ID photo size?

Yes. There are presets for 4×6 cm passport photos and 3.5×4.5 cm ID photos. They set the right proportions; you then place the box over the face.

Does cropping reduce the quality?

No. The crop is taken from your original photo at full resolution, not from the small preview, so no detail is lost unless you choose a smaller output size.

Can I crop for Instagram, X or YouTube?

Yes. Pick a preset such as Instagram post, Instagram story, X header or YouTube thumbnail and the box locks to that shape.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Cropping happens in your browser and the photo stays on your device.

A simple photo cropper that keeps full quality

Cropping is the quickest way to improve a photo: remove distractions, focus on the subject or fit the picture to the shape a platform asks for. This free online image cropper lets you drag and resize the crop box with your mouse or finger, lock it to a ratio such as 1:1, 4:3 or 16:9, or crop freely. Presets for Instagram posts and stories, X headers, YouTube thumbnails, passport photos and ID photos save you from doing the maths.

You can also rotate the picture in quarter turns, flip it horizontally or vertically, zoom in for precise edges and type the exact output width and height in pixels. The result is cut from your original photo at full resolution, so it stays sharp, and you can save it as PNG, JPG or WebP. Everything runs in your browser, so the photo is never uploaded, and there is no sign-up or watermark. After cropping, compress the image to make it lighter or add a caption with the text tool.
