Many websites now serve pictures as WebP, so a photo you save from a page or a chat can end up as a .webp file that older programs, print shops and upload forms refuse to open. Converting it to JPG fixes that in a few seconds. This page has the output format already set to JPG, and you can convert a whole folder of images at once.

WebP files can be transparent, while JPG cannot, so any see-through areas are filled with a background color, white by default. Choose the quality that suits you: 90% is almost indistinguishable from the original, 75% gives a noticeably smaller file. If you need to keep transparency, use WebP to PNG instead.
