Tips and limits

  • Screenshots with large flat areas can come out slightly smaller as PNG than JPG, so compare the sizes in the result list.
  • Pick the background color before converting: it cannot be changed afterwards without converting again.

PNG to JPG

PNG is great for sharp graphics, but a PNG photo or screenshot can be several times larger than the same picture saved as JPG. Converting is the quickest way to shrink it, and it is also what you need when a website or form only accepts JPG. Drop your PNG files here and the output format is already set to JPG.

JPG cannot store transparency, so any see-through area has to be filled with a color. White is the default; choose another with the color picker if your logo or sticker needs it. Quality 90% is a good balance, and you can lower it for a smaller file. If you need to go the other way, use JPG to PNG, or shrink further with the image compressor.
